Splurge & Steal: Blush Talk

Dreaming of pink.

Calling all blush fanatics! Chances are, if you’re a girl, you have at least ONE pink blush kickin’ around somewhere. Here are a few of my favorite pink blushes that are very close in quality at opposite prices!

Splurge: Nars Blush “Gaiety” - I am positive all makeup hoarders know exactly which blush I am referring to here. This blush is just fab. Aren’t all Nars products, though? Nars “Gaiety” is a super bright, almost neon pink shade. It is matte, which I love, and it can be worn any which way. It looks great on fair skin when applied light handed and blended out, and even better on dark skin. I find a lot of bold, bright blushes by Nars look best on darker skin tones. Although this is a splurge, it’s totally worth every penny!

Steal: e.l.f Cosmetics Studio Blush “Pink Passion” – I believe I have already raved about e.l.f Studio Blushes before. I did a review on them in my April Lusts article. I won’t repeat myself, but “Pink Passion” is almost identical to “Gaiety”. This is also a matte finish. I think e.l.f definitely turns to Nars for inspiration when developing certain products, and I am all for it! Although Nars “Gaiety” does give off a little bit more payoff, e.l.f “Pink Passion” is pretty amazing for the price. Highly pigmented, great payoff, gorgeous shade… Are you sold yet?

Splurge: Lorac Blush “Desire” – This is unlike any blush I have purchased in the past. It’s almost kind of holographic in a way. This product provides a shimmery finish, and it highlights the cheekbones instantly. If you’re looking for a soft pink glow, meet “Desire” by Lorac. One thing to note about this product is that a little goes a long way. Use it very light handed because the highlight finish should be applied ever so gently to remain looking natural.

Steal: Hard Candy Baked Blush “Living Doll” - Slightly lighter in pink than Lorac “Desire”, but provides the same finish. I’ve been using this for a few months and love it. It provides the same highlight, same finish, and comes in a super cute little compact. I really like Hard Candy and will be reviewing more of their products in coming articles.

When it comes to Splurge & Steal products, I always recommend purchasing both options. The reason being is that they are super convenient when going on vacation. You have the option to leave your high end products at home, and take the less expensive ones with you when you go away. Worst case scenario, you lose your makeup bag. You’ve lost a fraction of what could have been lost had you brought your department store products. Either way, all 4 are great quality products and I will DEFINITELY be repurchasing in the future. :)

I will try the Hard Candy blushes and also was curious about their camoflouge concealer. I hear its very pigmented for full coverage.
